It’s hard to believe that we’re already approaching the half way mark in 2017. As expected, the standard of projects being uploaded to the Cool Wall this year are of a very high standard, and the NFA Cool Wall, this year sponsored by Clayton Glass and Prefix Systems, continues to be a fantastic advert for our industry. An advert that demonstrates the high quality work that goes on in our sector week in and week out.

May was a quiet month for the Cool Wall, understandably so with much of the industry gearing up for what was a successful FIT Show. Still, Nordic Installations Ltd came out on top this month with this fantastic project:

A massive well done to them, and this project goes on to our Wall of Winners competition in December this year. It will also now show on our home page throughout May and show on the Cool Wall dashboard.

It is time to find the coolest installation for June. Each month we run a monthly Cool Wall up to November. Installers and fabricators can upload their finest work to then have the industry vote on uploaded projects to decide on which is the coolest for that month. The project with the most votes at the end of the month is declared the winner.

The winner of each monthly Cool Wall will find their installation displayed proudly on our home page, and will go on to our end of year Wall of Winners competition. The Wall of Winners competition is held in December and is a shootout vote between the 11 monthly Cool Wall winners to determine the coolest project of the year. The industry votes and the one with the most votes wins. The company with the project declared overall winner will go on to participate in this campaign’s Winners Event and all that entails, as well as picking up a trophy for their success.

As projects are uploaded they will appear here, and a poll will become live to vote for your chosen project once two or more images have been uploaded. Use the form below to tell us who you are, whether it’s a residential or commercial project, and of course your description of your chosen installation to upload.

There is no upload limit, and the earlier you upload the better chance you have of being voted the winner.

Good luck!

Vista Panels

An award-winning renovation project that turned a derelict Victorian chapel into a stylish guesthouse has been finished with an XtremeDoor, the best-in-class composite door from market leaders Vista.
Purchased by its current owners in the 1990s, the chapel had been empty for thirty years when refurbishment work began in 2013. Much of the interior timber structure was beyond repair, and the 1,517 square foot site required extensive reconstruction work to make it habitable again.
Now, however, thanks to the efforts of the building’s owners and award-winning architects Evolution Design, the Chapel on the Hill has become a luxurious hotel capable of accommodating 7 guests.
Vista added the finishing touch with an XtremeDoor powder-coated a striking red, chosen to precisely match the plum red colour of the building’s timber windows.
The project has gone on to win an A’ Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category for 2015-2016, The International Property Award for the best Interior Design Private Residence North East England, and a Daily Telegraph Homebuilding and Renovating Award for best conversion.
